Compassion

“Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the LORD for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.”

How we got started…

My friend, Paul, told me he had been serving coffee to his neighbors, so I told him I want to join.

On Saturday mornings, we served a cup of coffee, with cream and sugar.  Coffee led to conversations. Conversations led to prayer.

We let our church know about it.

Our church has a big heart.

So, the Saturday morning thing grew.

We got a 10,000 square foot building in downtown San Pedro and called it the Outreach Center.

We started a food pantry and a thrift store.

Initially people drove up and we loaded their cars during the pandemic.

Soon, we discovered we could set up pop-up pantries all over the city.

We started to do that and it was tons of fun.

We are adding more and more stations all over the city.

Why do we do this every Saturday?

We are a church that refuses to be merely inward-focused.

We will not be passive and all talk.

We, therefore, contend for God’s blessing to come upon our region.

We will be the answer to our prayers and will be the hands and feet of Jesus.

We will give with no strings attached.

The love of God compels us.

We're not salesmen, we are servants.

We are persistently looking for the pain points in our city.

We are healing the city one relationship at a time.

We are networking and mobilizing to put God’s love and power on display.

We need more help!

Come join us,
